LDS Family History Center
We have a Family History Center in our neighborhood. It is a branch of the LDS Family History Library and is in our local LDS meetinghouse. I serve as an assistant director in charge of training at this FHC.
This work is so fun–more than fun, it’s addicting. I have been able to help many people work on their family history and find their ancestors. They come to the FHC for different kinds of help–correcting errors in their family records, learning how to use various research tools (mostly online), searching to see if others have posted information about their family online, researching to push back their family lines. It is such a wonderful experience to be able to help someone find an ancestor in a census record or other record and help them piece together their family. This is all good…
