Goldie Newman was a wonderful cook. She had worked as a cook in the Bellflower High School lunch room, at the Kaiser Hospital kitchen, and at the Lion House, the Salt Lake Temple, and the Jordan River Temple cafeterias. She had a wonderful way with food and could make anything delicious. Mom loved to read recipe books and would jot down notes and recipe ideas. She would also clip recipes from the newspaper or from magazines. I’ve inherited from her a large box full of notes and clippings of recipes that I still have plans to organize some day and share with family.
